In the 2016 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers were left without a pick until the third round. Then, at 81st overall, they finally got to join in the fun and try to work to build their prospect pool, too.
They chose Sean Day.
Day, a 6’2, 224 lb. defenseman, has 13 points for the Windsor Spitfires in 17 games so far this year. Three of his latest came off of a natural hat trick that saw him lift his team up 3-2 over the Saginaw Spirit.
In overtime, even. It was as dramatic a hat trick as you could ever ask for.
