The Rangers approach with Oscar Lindberg can be summed up in one word: Patience.
With Josh Jooris back as the fourth-line center on Sunday after rehabbing a separated shoulder, Lindberg, who had averaged about nine minutes on ice in the last three games, was a healthy scratch against the Panthers.
The 25-year-old had 13 goals and 28 points in 68 games last season. So far, he has one assist in seven games.
“We have to be patient with him,” coach Alain Vigneault said Sunday. “That was a serious recovery (from hip surgery) that he had to go through in the summer, didn’t have training camp, and hasn’t had the luxury of a lot of practice at his position.
