Only the precautionary action of Rangers coach David Quinn could interrupt what has been a productive run of scoring by Pavel Buchnevich, who was held out of Monday night’s 4-2 loss to the Devils at Prudential Center.
Buchnevich had been sent into concussion protocol after a collision with Philadelphia’s Nolan Patrick in Sunday’s 3-0 Rangers win. Before being knocked out of the game, Buchnevich scored his 20th goal of the season to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead.
“He’s good,’’ Quinn said Monday night. “We kept him out for precautionary reasons, but there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see him Wednesday [for the Rangers home game against Ottawa].
