There’s only one, imposing way Rangers can lose series

WASHINGTON — The Rangers played their best hockey this year on the road. Their signal victories during the regular season came in Anaheim and L.A., in Chicago and San Jose, Minnesota and Winnipeg, and at Nassau Coliseum.

Forty-three games so far away from the Garden, including the first-round pair swept in Pittsburgh, and the Blueshirts have won 30 of them.

And so it is instinctive to believe the Rangers’ best hockey is ahead of them in Round 2 against the Caps, in Monday’s Game 3 and Wednesday’s Game 4 after the opening split on Broadway.

Last round, Ryan McDonagh referred to his team’s “Us against the building” mentality in attempting to frame the Blueshirts’ success while wearing white.
