Here is a not all-inclusive list of potential candidates for Rangers’ coaching job:

Jim Montgomery, U. of Denver: Former NHL center, won NCAA tournament last year.

David Quinn, Boston University: Five years at BU, has pro coaching experience as head man in AHL, assistant in NHL.

Rick Bennett, Union College: Under contract through 2022-23, though. Won NCAA in 2014. Played 15 games for the Rangers in early 1980s.

Sheldon Keefe, AHL Toronto Marlies: Extremely close to Leafs GM-in-waiting Kyle Dubas, has been in AHL for three years after three extremely successful seasons with OHL Sault Ste.
