Mats Zuccarello’s frightening brain injury last spring warranted a summer spent fixing himself, but the Rangers’ Norwegian forward decided to help the world instead.
While recuperating, Zuccarello, 28, traveled to Tanzania in East Africa the first week of August to see first-hand how the Right to Play organization has spent the nearly $280,000 he has raised through auction dinners for charity.
He returned with a new perspective on life.
“You could see it’s not just food that they need, it’s education,” Zuccarello, whose Rangers (5-2-1) visit the Philadelphia Flyers (3-2-1) on Saturday night, told the Daily News recently.
