ST. PAUL – Jarret Stoll was in his New York City condo Monday morning when he found out the Rangers were going to waive him. So he texted two teammates who live in the same building, Kevin Hayes and Keith Yandle, and one who lives nearby, Tanner Glass, about that day’s carpool to practice.
“Sorry, boys, I’m not coming today,” Stoll wrote.
That is how Stoll, 33, remembers his last hours as a Ranger, a brief Big Apple stint that began on Aug. 10 with a one-year, $800,000 contract signing and lasted only 29 games until the Minnesota Wild claimed him Tuesday.
