The Rangers had a scary moment in the final seconds of their 2-1 victory over the Ducks at Honda Center on Wednesday night.
Captain Ryan McDonagh went to the ice in a heap when a Cam Fowler slap shot deflected up and hit him in side of the head. McDonagh was down for a while, but after being checked out by trainer Jim Ramsay, he got up and skated off under his own power.
“As far as I know, he’s all right,” coach Alain Vigneault said. “The puck hit him on the side of the helmet and the side of the ear.
