After essentially being called out by his coach after Game 1, Rick Nash responded with a much more effective Game 2.
The power forward tallied an assist, four shots on goal, three hits and two takeaways in his 16:06 on the ice. Though his helper came on Derick Brassard's game-winning goal in the third period, he also deserved praise on Dan Boyle's unassisted power play score with a terrific screen in front of Washington goaltender Braden Holtby.
"That puck doesn't go in without (Nash) occupying the goalie's eyes," Boyle said. "That's what you've got to do to score goals at this level this time of year.
