Per a report from an Italian newspaper (La Regione), Brandon Pirri has elected to join Kevin Klein overseas in Switzerland.
The 26-year-old became a free agent when the New York Rangers elected not to qualify him earlier this summer. Apparently there were no teams who wanted to take a shot on Pirri (he has 18 points in 60 games last year), so he’s gone overseas.
I wouldn’t have minded the Rangers giving Pirri a 13th forward opportunity. In sparse opportunities he proved that he can be somewhat helpful on the man advantage, and he wasn’t a total disaster when he was on the ice.
