The Rangers power-play struggles continued during their 3-1 loss Thursday night in Brooklyn.
They were 0-for-3 with the man-advantage against the Islanders, running their stretch of futility to 0-for-19, and then couldn’t score with an extra attacker in the final minutes while trailing by a goal.
The Rangers’ recent inability to score on the power play didn’t really hurt them during their 4-2-1 streak entering Thursday’s game. But in Barclays Center, the closest they came to scoring on the power play was when Chris Kreider, with Jaroslav Halak out of position and the net half open, hit the outside of the right post.
