The chance for Jarret Stoll to make it on Broadway is now likely kaput.

The Rangers placed the veteran forward on waivers Monday, meaning any team in the league has until noon Tuesday to claim the 33-year-old, carrying a $800,000 salary-cap hit.

Stoll was signed to the one-year deal this summer as an unrestricted free agent, and Rangers coach Alain Vigneault tried to find a spot for the two-time Stanley Cup winner. But having played his whole career as a center, Stoll struggled to adjust to life on the wing and couldn’t keep up with the Rangers’ preferred pace while playing down the middle.
