Rangers’ voice Sam Rosen to the Hockey Hall of Fame; wins Foster Hewitt Memorial Award

And this one will last a lifetime.

Sam Rosen of New City, for 32 years the TV voice of the Rangers for MSG Network, will be enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto as the 2016 winner of the prestigious Foster Hewitt Memorial Award, it was announced Thursday.

Long-time Chicago columnist Bob Verdi will enter the Hall with Rosen upon winning the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award on Thursday. The 2016 inductions are set for Nov. 14. The players/coaches/builders to be elected in the HHOF Class of 2016 will be announced June 27.

“Just a very special feeling,” Rosen said Thursday.
