Rangers' Viktor Stalberg calls Kris Letang play 'dangerous'

Rangers forward Viktor Stalberg, who lost three teeth when Penguins defenseman Kris Letang swung his stick and struck him in the face in Game 3, on Thursday called the blow a “dangerous” play that was a penalty “no matter how you look at it.”

No penalty was called on Letang, who said Wednesday that he was off-balance and the blow was not intentional. The incident happened at 7:12 of the third period on Tuesday, and the NHL decided that no supplemental discipline was warranted.

The Rangers were trailing 2-1 at the time, and although Stalberg said he was fortunate that the injury, which left him bloodied, wasn’t more serious, he also lamented that no infraction was called by the referees.
