The Rangers have traded Jimmey Vesey to the Sabres for a third-round pick in the 2021 draft, the team announced Monday morning.
Vesey totaled 90 points (50 goals, 40 assists) in 240 games over three seasons with the Rangers. He signed with the team out of Harvard in 2016 after winning the Hobey Baker Award as the top hockey player in college.
Vesey was set to make $2.275 million in 2019-2020 and the Rangers now have $20,411,391 in projected cap space, according to capfriendly.com. NHL free agency opens at noon on Monday.
