Today, the New York Rangers announced that they have traded the rights to prospect Jayden Grubbe to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a 2023 5th-round pick. Grubbe’s rights are set to expire tomorrow and he will be eligible to re-enter the 2023 NHL entry draft if the Oilers do not offer an entry-level contract to this player before then, which I’m assuming will be the case if they traded a fifth for his rights.
Grubbe recorded 18 goals and 49 assists for 67 points in 64 games with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League.
