The Rangers made their first move in what could be a busy time leading up the trade deadline.
The Blueshirts announced they dealt forward Cody McLeod to the Predators for a seventh-round draft pick in the 2020 NHL draft. The 34-year-old, who the Rangers claimed off waivers from Nashville on Jan. 25, 2018, had one goal this season in 31 games. The NHL trade deadline in Feb. 25.
McLeod isn’t the only player from the area heading to the Predators.
The Devils traded center Brian Boyle to Nashville for a 2019 second-round pick. Boyle, 34, has 19 points (13 goals, six assists) in 47 games this season.
