The NHL and NHLPA are expected to approve a 24 team return to play scenario in the next few days. While there are plenty of details to refine, the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes would open a best of five “play-in” round. If there is any truth to past is prologue, the Rangers couldn’t have asked for a better opening opponent.
