The Rangers outlasted the increasing physicality of the game, which saw at least three fights result in dual penalties. They were challenged with three stretches of 4-on-4 play, including a 4-on-3 opportunity for the Ducks late in the second period, and dominated the short-handed possessions – even adding a short-handed goal to put the game out of reach in the third.
