Per Elliotte Friedman, the New York Rangers have signed veteran defenseman Jarred Tinordi for two years with an AAV of $900k. This is clearly a depth move to add to the team’s toughness. Tinordi will likely be one of the defensemen competing for the role as the seventh d-man, stepping into the role that once belonged to Brendan Smith.
Tinordi, 29, is a 6-foot-6 bruising defenseman that has spent more time in the AHL than the NHL in the last five years. He joins the Rangers with 102 games of NHL experience and 397 games of AHL experience.
