Per Vince Mercogliano, the Rangers have signed center Riley Nash to a 2 year contract. Nash has a reputation of being a defensive specialist, but did not play in the NHL at all last year. He did play well with the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL, but signing a 34 year old to a 2 year contract who didn’t play in the NHL last year doesn’t look great on the surface.
That said, this is a low risk deal at what is expected to be under $1 million, so Nash can be buried if needed.
