The New York Rangers have signed goaltender Adam Huska to an entry-level contract, the team announced Saturday. The 21-year-old goaltender was drafted with a seventh-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
Huska was the USHL’s goaltender of the year in 2015-2016, posting a .931 save percentage in 31 games. He was a standout performer for Slovakia at the World Junior Championship in both 15-16 and 16-17. In his first two seasons at UConn Huska posted a combined .914 save percentage despite seeing over 30 shots per game on average.
Huska did have a turbulent junior season.
