Like a Thanksgiving Day green bean shocked in an ice bath, the Rangers woke up from a warm and cozy beginning to their season with the harsh reality of Wednesday night’s 5-1 loss to the Canadiens.
No longer could they find a way to overcome some shortcomings. No longer could goalie Henrik Lundqvist save them. And no longer did they seem impervious to their mistakes.
“[Wednesday] night was very disappointing, giving up a lot of goals and [losing] the game — I hate that feeling,” Lundqvist told The Post after Thursday’s practice in Westchester County, his team preparing for its annual trip up to Boston, this time for a Friday afternoon game against the Bruins on network television.
