Rangers send Filip Chytil and Vitali Kravtsov to Hartford

The Rangers’ nurturing of some of their important young players will start with them in the minors.

The team announced cuts on Monday, and a bit surprisingly, talented forwards Filip Chytil and Vitali Kravtsov were sent to AHL Hartford. Sticking with the team was 18-year-old rookie and this year’s No. 2-overall pick, Kaapo Kakko, as well as the No. 7-overall pick from 2017, Lias Andersson.

Also going to Hartford were winger Vinni Lettieri, defenseman Ryan Lindgren, and goalie Igor Shesterkin. Center Boo Nieves was placed on waivers with the purpose of being assigned to the Wolf Pack should he clear.
