The anger from Ryan Lindgren was clear as he was leaving the ice Tuesday night, blood dripping from under his right eye. But that is where it ended.
After a phone hearing with the Department of Player Safety (DOPS) during the Rangers’ day off on Wednesday, the 21-year-old defenseman avoided any supplemental punishment as a result of his hit on Avalanche forward Joonas Donskoi late in the first period of the Blueshirts’ 5-3 win at the Garden.
Lindgren was not penalized on the play, when he came up to level Donskoi near the penalty boxes.
