Reports surfaced late yesterday that the New York Rangers offered a mutual contract termination in order to let Tony DeAngelo become a UFA. It was also noted that the Montreal Canadiens were interested in signing DeAngelo, probably to a one year deal around $1 million to play again this season.
It could’ve all went down over the weekend but it wasn’t of interest to the 25 year-old from a financial standpoint.
Tony DeAngelo refused mutual contract termination
DeAngelo refused the offer as he stands to make much more by forcing the Rangers to buy him out this summer at 1/3 his contract.
