New York Rangers salary cap update
On Thursday, the Rangers officially announced the re-signing of 2020 first overall pick Alexis Lafreniere to a two-year extension. Per CapFriendly, the AAV is for $2.325 million with Lafreniere an RFA again in the summer of 2025 and having a $2.65 million qualifying offer.
Assuming the Rangers will carry an extra forward (Alex Belzile) and defenseman (Erik Gustafsson), the Blueshirts have $728, 418 in cap space heading into the season.
