The New York Rangers won’t be getting any help from the league regarding the salary cap ceiling, which is only expected to jump from $82.5M to $83.5M.
That means GM Chris Drury has less than $12 million to figure out the rest of the roster, including re-signing Alexis Lafreniere and K’Andre Miller.
Recently, Forever Blueshirts explored a potential buyout of Barclay Goodrow and per CapFriendly, the structure would look something like this:
Deal: $3.64M AAV (modified no-trade / 4 years remaining)
Buyout Savings: $3.841M (2023-24), $3.7M (2024-25), $2.491M (2025-26)
Buyout Penalty: $8K (2026-27), $1,258,333 (following 4 seasons)
Now a new report from Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff states that Rangers are gauging interest from other teams for a potential trade.
