Rangers rookie turning heads with stunning goal streak

Oscar Lindberg has now taken his show to Broadway.

The Rangers Swedish rookie scored two more goals in Saturday night’s home-opener at the Garden, aiding a 5-2 shellacking of the Blue Jackets. So that’s now four goals in the first three games for Lindberg, certainly making an impression to start his NHL career.

“I don’t think he’s going to continue on a 80-someodd-goal pace, but players go through these stretches,” coach Alain Vigneault said. “I need him to be very effective at both ends. But he’s got some really timely, important goals.”

Lindberg became the first rookie in franchise history to score in each of the team’s first three games of a season, and he’s the first rookie since Steven King in 1992-93 to score in his first three games with the team.
