New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled defenseman Raphael Diaz from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Diaz, 30, skated in 37 games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering six goals and 15 assists for 21 points, along with a plus-11 rating and 16 penalty minutes. He ranked second on Hartford – and led team defensemen – in plus/minus rating in 2015-16. In addition, Diaz led Wolf Pack defensemen in points per game this season (0.57). He registered a point in six of his final seven contests (one goal, six assists), as well as nine of his final 11 games (two goals, eight assists over the span).
