Rangers recall Glass to play for sick Etem vs. Isles

The Rangers recalled veteran right wing Tanner Glass from the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday morning, and he will dress against the Islanders in Brooklyn in place of right wing Emerson Etem, who is ill.

“Emerson Etem was not feeling well (Tuesday), and he didn’t turn the corner (today), so we needed another forward,” coach Alain Vigneault said on the morning of his team’s first-ever game at Barclays Center. “We thought that in today’s game, Glasser would be a good fit. He’s playing well in Hartford.”

I asked Vigneault if the Rangers recalled Glass specifically because this rivalry game could, and tends to, “spiral out of control.
