Rangers Re-Sign Mat Bodie to One-Year Deal

Prospect Mat Bodie will be back with the Rangers organization next season after agreeing to terms on a one-year deal Wednesday.

The New York Rangers have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Mat Bodie to a one-year contract, Blueshirt Banter has learned.

Though Bodie declined his qualifying offer, which amounted to $971,250 at the NHL level, it was used as the foundation for the contract ultimately agreed upon. Thus, the NHL cap hit should be very close to that number. The contract was officially signed yesterday

Bodie, 25, was initially signed by the Rangers as an undrafted free agent in April of 2014 after winning the NCAA Championship with Union College.
