NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Of course there was anxiety. It was only natural to think the Rangers could blow another lead.
But finally, they didn’t. Finally, they were able to hold on.
The Blueshirts beat the struggling Predators, 4-3, on Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena, starting this New Year’s trip off on the right note. It hasn’t been easy for the Rangers of late, but two goals early in the third period were able to turn the tide in a game in which they were generally outplayed through the opening 40 minutes.
“We feel like we’ve thrown away a lot of valuable points over the last month,” coach David Quinn said before the game.
