Rangers prospects fall to Minnesota, 5-2, in Traverse City

The Rangers were defeated by the Minnesota Wild, 5-2, in their first game of the Traverse City Tournament on Friday afternoon.

The Blueshirts opened the scoring at 13:22 of the first period, as Brad Morrison tallied a goal by beating Wild goaltender Brody Hoffman with a wrist shot. Minnesota tied the game 1:18 into the second period, as Jack Walker tallied a goal.

After tying the game, the Wild scored two goals in a span of 3:54 before the end of the second period. Christoph Bertschy scored to give Minnesota a 2-1 lead at 13:50 of the middle frame, and Carter Rigby extended Minnesota’s lead to two by recording a goal with 2:16 remaining in the period.
