The July 5 restricted free agent frenzy began for the Rangers with Pavel Buchnevich and Jacob Trouba filing for salary arbitration.
If things go according to plan, both will have the opportunity to address a third-party arbiter when a date is set for a hearing. The Rangers now have the ability to use the second buyout window, an option they may pursue if freeing up cap room through a trade isn’t a possibility.
Trouba, who the Rangers recently acquired in exchange for Neal Pionk and the 20th pick in the 2019 draft, just finished a one-year, $5.
