For the third time this season, Pavel Buchnevich has played his way out of the Rangers lineup and into the press box as a healthy scratch. This time, he did it coming off a nine-day break and with the Rangers not having an extra healthy forward who could replace him in the lineup.
Rangers coach David Quinn said Tuesday morning he will dress seven defensemen and 11 forwards Tuesday night when the Rangers return from the All-Star break/bye week with a game against the Philadelphia Flyers at Madison Square Garden.
“He’s got to play better,’’ Quinn said of Buchnevich.
