VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Chris Kreider has a medical issue that the Rangers are not discussing publicly, and continue to be vague about the forward’s prognosis.
On Tuesday morning, coach Alain Vigneault said that Kreider, who attended a team meeting on Sunday morning at Rogers Place in Edmonton but was then sent, presumably to New York, for further evaluation with team doctors, was continuing to be evaluated. He said more would be known, hopefully, “in the next 48 hours.”
Vigneault, who had called the problem an “upper-body” issue, said Tuesday he did not know if Kreider, who played on Saturday in Calgary, went through concussion protocol.
