GREENBURGH – The news on Ryan McDonagh was about as good as the Rangers could have hoped.
The captain did not suffer a second concussion when blasted in the jaw by Toronto’s Leo Komarov Thursday night. McDonagh did suffer a jaw contusion and neck stiffness, and will not play Sunday against Detroit, but he is listed as day-to-day.
McDonagh passed concussion tests in Toronto after the hit, and again Saturday, when he was also to have a CT scan on his jaw.
McDonagh originally was concussed by a Wayne Simmonds sucker punch in Philadelphia Feb.
