The Rangers are beefing up their blue line, and they didn’t even need to wait for the 2019 NHL draft to arrive.
They landed defensive prospect Adam Fox on Tuesday from the Hurricanes, giving up their second-round pick in this year’s NHL draft and a conditional third in next year’s draft, The Post’s Larry Brooks reported.
Fox, a Jericho, N.Y. native, was the 66th overall pick of the Flames in the 2016 draft and had his rights later dealt to the Hurricanes. He has said he was returning to Harvard for his senior year, meaning he would be completing his college eligibility and become a free agent in 2020.
