Sports

Kevin Klein checks New Jersey's Kyle Palmieri during the third period of the Rangers' 3-2 loss to the Devils on Tuesday night at the Garden.

The Rangers could be without vital defenseman Kevin Klein again.

The blueliner left Tuesday night’s 3-2 loss to the Devils at Prudential Center in Newark after he was slashed on the right hand/wrist by Reid Boucher with 3:02 left in the final period, and didn’t return. The Rangers offered no update afterward regarding his status.

The 31-year-old Klein, having a strong season while producing a plus-14 rating, missed 11 games earlier in the season with an oblique injury.
