J.T. Miller will become a husband in a little over a week, but he wanted to make sure the wedding was the only thing on his mind a week from Saturday.
Miller, the Rangers’ first-round pick in 2011 and a restricted free agent, signed a two-year, $5.5 million deal to remain with the team Wednesday. Finally, it was off his to-do list. He could exhale now that his first negotiation is over and focus on the hectic few weeks ahead.
“Especially going into [the wedding] and the honeymoon the next week, [the contract] is the last thing I wanted on my mind,” Miller said Thursday at the Madison Square Garden Training Center in Tarrytown.
