Rangers Jeff Gorton in no rush to deal Tony DeAngelo, willing to buy him out in offseason

A Tony DeAngelo trade was supposed to be coming “within days.” At least that’s what a source told Darren Dreger earlier in the week. However, here we are and no deal appears imminent.

The word I’m getting is that things with the Flames have cooled down since the buzz late Thursday. As for the other teams reportedly interested in the 25 year-old rearguard, not much is coming out of Detroit or Los Angeles. Some info is out there from Anaheim but very little.

Teams want the Rangers to take back a bad contract

Jeff Gorton is in no rush, and contrary to previous reporting is not willing to retain 50% of DeAngelo’s salary.
