Michael Grabner's shot is stopped by Steve Mason during the Rangers' 2-0 loss on Wednesday night.
The chances were certainly there, but the finish wasn’t.
The Rangers held the better of the play for most of Wednesday night’s Garden match against the Flyers, but they never could quite figure out Philadelphia goalie Steve Mason and had their three-game winning streak broken with a 2-0 defeat.
It was the Rangers’ final game before the All-Star break, and though there was a lot of good to take out of this contest — and the past week, if not the whole “first half” — giving Mason his first shutout of the season surely will stick with them.
