As we all know, the New York Rangers are deep into their search for a new head coach and as it turns out, the Rangers have been given permission by the Toronto Maple Leafs to speak to their assistant head coach Spencer Carbery about becoming the boss behind the bench in Manhatten. This is not a statement of the Rangers officially appointing a new head coach by any means because Carbery is still wanted by other teams, but it shows where they are looking.
Carbery was named ECHL coach of the year in 2013-14 and has really had to work hard to make it to the bench of one of the top NHL teams in the league.
