All signs are pointing to Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh being ready to return to the lineup on Wednesday night against the Blackhawks at the Garden. McDonagh has missed the previous four games since being concussed by a gloved sucker punch from the Flyers’ Wayne Simmonds in Philadelphia on Feb. 6.
“I’m going to say I’m good enough to go,” McDonagh said after a strenuous practice on Tuesday, paired back with Dan Girardi. “As long as the coaching staff feels that they want me, we’ll go from there.”
Head coach Alain Vigneault smiled upon hearing that McDonagh declared himself ready to go, but he hardly disputed the fact.
