ANAHEIM, Calif. — There is nothing set in stone for the Rangers as the postseason looms and the standings continue to be jammed and murky.
Their own play has continued to come and go, as well, so it was promising they pulled out a 2-1 win over the Ducks at Honda Center on Wednesday night. The victory allowed them to start their three-game California trip on a good note and retake a two-point lead over the Islanders for second place in the Metropolitan Division, while their Brooklyn counterparts hold two games in hand.
“We still have to get ourselves into the playoffs,” defenseman Keith Yandle said Tuesday.
