Less than 24 hours after a 5-3 loss in Toronto, the Rangers returned home to MSG for their final game before the NHL’s Christmas break. Hosting the rival Flyers, the Blueshirts were ready to go when the puck dropped but weren’t able to get the two points when it was all set and done.
Chris Kreider – The Rangers drew first blood in this one on Chris Kreider’s team leading 17th tally of the season. Taking a gorgeous pass from fellow Boston College alumnus, and the team’s hottest player Kevin Hayes, Kreider broke in on Michal Neuvirth and beat him with a shot to the blocker side to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the first period.
