Dan Boyle may be done after 18 seasons. The graybeard defenseman wasn’t ready to make his retirement official on Tuesday on Rangers breakup day, but feels it may be time to hang up his skates.
He still feels physically able to do the job and know there are teams who would be interested in his services, but mentally, he isn’t sure if he’s prepared to keep going, wanting to spend more time with his two young daughters.
“I’m in all likelihood mostly done,” Boyle said. “I’m not prepared to say it today. I want to make sure that I make a rational decision.
