The Rangers and coach Alain Vigneault let the whole world know Monday morning exactly how they feel about how their captain Ryan McDonagh was concussed and the lack of action from the NHL thereafter.
McDonagh was hurt when he was sucker-punched by the Flyers’ Wayne Simmonds on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. The team announced the concussion Monday morning — an uncharacteristic bit of transparency — and said McDonagh would miss at least Monday night’s Garden match against the Devils.
The team was preparing to play with its six active defensemen, forcing a right-handed defenseman to playing on the left.
