It seems Alain Vigneault, who watched the World Series through blue-and-orange lenses, wasn’t exactly impressed with what he saw from Yoenis Cespedes on Sunday night.
When the Rangers coach was asked Monday whether he ever had been in a situation where he decided to pull his goaltender but was talked out of it by the goalie (as close to a Terry Collins/Matt Harvey Game 5 equivalent as it would get), Vigneault said this as his exit line to his post-practice press briefing:
“No, but how about the one where you take the ball off [your knee] and you take yourself out of the game in the World Series?
